Baramulla, April 12 (KNO) : The residents of Heavan area of Baramulla district here have expressed resentment over the bad condition of roads as the authorities in Roads and Building (R&B) department here have failed to macadamise the roads. Irked and agitated by the potholes from Fatehgarh to Heaven, residents alleged that the road was macadamized over five years back, but now the road has developed potholes. “We are facing tremendous hardships due to the potholed roads,” one of the residents, Ghulam Mohd, a resident told KNO. The residents said that they approached to the concerned R&B department several times in this regard but nothing has been happened on the ground. They said that they are being ignored by the authorities for no reasons. “Sometimes many of the commercial drivers refuse traveling over this damaged road, leaving the commuters to suffer,” they said. Junior Engineer R&B department Baramulla, Tufail Beigh told KNO the macadamization of the road will be carried out this year. “The work could have been started but was delayed due to strike of contractors,” he said. Being told KNO that department will macadamize the road wherever required in the month of April. (KNO)
